Personal Reflections Along The Journey

That’s More Like It!

Okay, that’s what we’re talking about! 8-2 Ottawa … over Toronto!

I didn’t watch the game, but as I watched the highlights, I was reminded again why I can’t stand the Maple Laughs. I mean, what was Tucker doing in the penalty box yelling at Heater? According to TSN, he was mouthing something about taking out Heatley’s knee. Mouthing, "I’m going to rip it off!" Talk about classless. The guy – and the team – can be so classless. Just like many in "Leaf Nation." And if Bell is tough enough to blind side Alfie, maybe he should removed that full mask and go toe to toe with Neil. Oh well, a couple of more days and we’ll stop hearing about the Maple Laughs on the "Toronto Sports Network" (TSN)

It’s hard for me to be too grumpy today. The Sens won, and more importantly, I was out on my bike for the first time yesterday. It was AWESOME to be back out again. What a feeling. As the old saying goes, "If I have to explain, you wouldn’t understand." There’s so much truth to that. I simply can’t explain the sense of euphoria that one feels when they get out for that first ride of the season. It’s a taste of Heaven.

It was also great to ride home beside a brother. As much as I can enjoy jumping on my bike and just heading out somewhere on my own, there is something special to have a friend – no, a brother – riding beside you. Both of you doing 120 km/h, your bikes close enough that you could reach over and touch each other. It’s amazing. It’s great to have people like that in your life, that make even a simple ride home a little more special.
